How To Make Toasted Everything Bagel Seasoning

This everything bagel seasoning has all you need to recreate that everything bagel flavor. The secret is toasting the seeds and seasonings.

  • 2tbspsesame seeds
  • 2tbsppoppy seeds
  • 1tbsponion,dried minced
  • 2tspgarlic,dried minced
  • tspkosher salt,or ½ fine sea salt
  • ¼tspred pepper flakes,optional


  1. In a small skillet, combine the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried onion, dried garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  2. Warm over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the spices are fragrant and the sesame seeds are turning barely golden on the edges.

  3. Transfer the mix to a small bowl to cool. Store cooled leftover spice blend in a jar at room temperature for up to 1 month.
