How To Make Sourdough Bagels

Delicious homemade bagels made with sourdough starter for a tangy twist!

  1. Mix starter, honey, and salt in a large bowl.

  2. Gradually add flour and mix until dough forms.

  3. Knead dough for 10 minutes and divide into 8 equal parts.

  4. Roll each part into a ball and poke a hole with your finger in the center to form a bagel shape.

  5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

  6. Preheat oven to 425°F and bring a large pot of water to boil with baking soda.

  7. Boil each bagel for 1-2 minutes on each side and place on a greased baking sheet.

  8. Beat egg and brush onto each bagel, then sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top.

  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  10. Serve warm with cream cheese or butter.
