How To Make Garlic-Anchovy Mayonnaise

The flavor of garlic adds more depth to this creamy and salty anchovy mayonnaise recipe, which works well as a spread and a salad dressing.

  • 2clovegarlic
  • 1large egg
  • 2tbspanchovy paste
  • 1tbspfresh lemon juice
  • ¼tspfreshly ground black pepper
  • 1cupextra virgin olive oil
  • ½cupcanola oil


  1. In a food processor with metal blade attached, mince garlic. Add egg, anchovy paste, lemon juice and pepper and process until smooth.

  2. With motor running, drizzle in olive and canola oils in a thin stream until mayonnaise thickens. Scrape into a bowl, cover and refrigerate until serving, up to 1 week.
