  • 12 oz linguine pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish


  1. Cook linguine according to package instructions in salted water. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Cook until mushrooms are browned and garlic is fragrant.

  3. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Add cooked linguine to the sauce and toss to coat.

  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or basil.
