How To Make Beef Pho Recipe
A traditional Vietnamese soup with rice noodles, tender beef, fresh herbs, and a flavorful broth.

Ingredients
- 1 lb beef bones
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 inches ginger, sliced
- 4 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 cups water
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Salt, to taste
- 8 oz rice noodles, cooked
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 cup Thai basil
- 1 cup cilantro
- 2 limes, cut into wedges
- Sriracha, hoisin sauce, and chili peppers (optional)
Instructions

Roast the beef bones in a preheated oven at 400F for 30 minutes.

In a large pot, add the beef chuck roast, onion, ginger, anise, cinnamon, garlic, and roasted bones. Cover with water and bring to a boil.

Skim off any impurities on the surface, then simmer on low heat for 3 hours until the beef is tender.

Remove the beef from the pot and strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve. Discard the solids.

Add fish sauce, sugar, and salt to taste.

Pour the hot broth over the beef and noodles.

Serve with green onions, bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, lime wedges, and optional sauces and peppers.
