How To Make Cedar Plank Spice-Rubbed Salmon
Made and grilled on a cedar plank, this wonderful spice-rubbed salmon is made flavorful with light brown sugar, steak seasoning, and paprika!
Place the oven-safe cedar plank in the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
Whisk light brown sugar, Montréal steak seasoning, and paprika together, and rub all over salmon fillets just before cooking.
Place the salmon on the cedar plank and bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness, until just cooked through or opaque.
Soak the cedar plank in the water for at least 1 hour.
Heat the grill to medium-high, leaving the right burners off to have indirect heat. Close the lid and let the grill get hot.
Whisk the light brown sugar, Montréal steak seasoning, and paprika together, and rub all over the salmon fillets just before cooking.
Place the salmon on the cedar plank and cook on the direct heat side for 3 to 4 minutes, until the planks start to smoke and get a little charred on the bottom and edges.
Transfer the plank to the indirect heat side, cover, and grill for 10 to 15 minutes depending on the thickness, or until the salmon is cooked through in the thickest part.
Remove the plank from heat source and use a fish spatula to gently remove the salmon from the cedar planks.
Serve and enjoy.
While grilling, check occasionally to make sure the edges of the plank don’t ignite. Keep a spray bottle with water in handy it gets burned.
