Purple Apple Slaw Recipe

This apple slaw dish has a special touch of Fuji apples for a naturally sweet flavor. It makes 12 servings that is great for a small potluck gathering.

How To Make Purple Apple Slaw

It's coleslaw with a twist. We used red cabbage with slices of Fuji apple and seasoned it with traditional coleslaw ingredients.

  • ½ medium head red cabbage, finely shredded
  • ¼ cup white onion, finely minced
  • 2 Fuji apples, peeled, cored and finely diced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp milk


  1. In a large serving bowl, toss together the cabbage, onion, and apples.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, salt, pepper, sugar, lemon juice, and milk.
  3. Pour dressing over the cabbage mixture, and toss to coat.
  4. Chill until serving.
