Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pasta
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized and golden brown, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.

  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.

  4. Sprinkle the dried oregano and red pepper flakes (if using) over the onions and garlic. Stir well to combine.

  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the caramelized onions. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the onion mixture.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Serve hot, sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
