How To Make Lemon Parmesan Garlic Orzo Pasta with Asparagus

A lemony and garlicky parmesan sauce imparts a world of flavors to this orzo pasta recipe. It’s served with asparagus and is a complete meal on its own.

Ingredients

  • 3cupswater
  • 8ozorzo pasta,uncooked
  • 1lbasparagus
  • ¼cupbutter
  • 2tbspgarlic,fresh minced
  • 3tbspfresh lemon juice,depending on taste
  • ¾cupParmesan Cheese,Grated
  • Salt and pepper,to taste
  • lemon wedges,for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the orzo in a large pot according to package directions. Add the asparagus the last 3 minutes of cooking. Drain.

  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat add the butter. Next add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add lemon juice, and parmesan cheese.

  3. Add the orzo and asparagus and toss. Salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.
