  • 1 lb. cheese tortellini
  • 1/3 cup pesto
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste


  1. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions.

  2. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water.

  3. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  4. Add pesto, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and garlic powder to the pan. Stir in the reserved pasta cooking water.

  5. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat it with the sauce.

  6. Serve hot and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and black pepper, if desired.
