  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish


  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

  2. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Saute until onions turn translucent.

  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.

  4. Add diced carrots and potatoes. Mix well.

  5. Add ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir to coat the meat and vegetables with the spices.

  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the keema simmer for about 30 minutes or until the carrots and potatoes are tender.

  7. Stir in garam masala and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
