Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
-
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
-
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
-
Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown, about 5 minutes.
-
Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well to combine. Cook for 1 minute.
-
Slowly pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
-
Stir in the heavy cream, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the mushroom sauce over the top.
-
Cover the skillet and cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is hot and bubbly.
-
Serve the Cream of Mushroom Chicken over rice or pasta, garnished with fresh chopped parsley.
