How To Make World’s Best Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
  • 2 (6.5 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, brown ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat. Drain excess fat.

  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, sugar, basil, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Simmer uncovered for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and 2 tablespoons of parsley.

  6. To assemble the lasagna, spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange 3 noodles on top of the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat these layers once more. Top with remaining 3 noodles and the remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

  7. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  8. Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
