How To Make Minced Beef Wellington

Ingredients

  • 1 lb minced beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.

  3. Add the minced beef to the pan and cook until browned. Season with thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.

  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Cut it into 4 equal squares.

  5. Spoon the cooked minced beef mixture onto the center of each pastry square.

  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the beef, forming a pocket. Pinch the edges to seal.

  7. Brush the pastry with beaten egg to give it a golden color.

  8. Place the beef Wellington on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
