Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Mini chocolate chips, for decorating
  • Orange candies or icing, for decorating
  • Pretzel sticks, for decorating

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.

  2. Add the chilled butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your hands to cut it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract. Gradually add the milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough forms.

  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.

  5. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out circles from the dough. Place the circles onto a lined baking sheet.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the remaining dough, re-rolling it as needed.

  7. Use a smaller round cookie cutter to cut out the heads of the snowmen from the circles. Place the heads onto the baking sheet.

  8. Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden.

  9. Allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack.

  10. Once cooled, dust the biscuits with powdered sugar to resemble snow.

  11. Use mini chocolate chips to create eyes and buttons on the snowmen.

  12. Use orange candies or icing to create carrot noses.

  13. Break pretzel sticks in half and press them into the sides of the snowmen to create arms.
