Ingredients
- 4 ham hocks
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large Dutch oven or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Sear ham hocks until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.

Remove ham hocks from pot and add onion and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add chicken broth, red wine, bay leaves, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.

Return ham hocks to pot and bring to a boil.

Cover pot and transfer to oven. Bake for 3 hours or until meat is tender and falling off the bone.

Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
