How To Make Homemade Wassail

Enjoy a hot glass of wassail or hot mulled cider for the holiday festivities! It’s rich, fruity, and perfect to serve on those cold winter nights.

Ingredients

  • 2¼cupswhite sugar
  • 4cupswater
  • 2cinnamon sticks
  • 1fresh ginger root slice
  • 4cupsorange juice
  • 2cupslemon juice
  • 8cupsapple juice
  • 8whole allspice berries
  • 1tbspwhole cloves

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Boil for 5 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat, then add the cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, cloves, and ginger.

  3. Cover, then let stand in a warm place for 1 hour.

  4. Strain the liquid into a large pot.

  5. Add the orange juice, lemon juice, and apple juice into the large pot, then quickly bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

  6. Serve, and enjoy!
