Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 1/2 cup of brandy
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 10 cloves
  • 10 cardamom pods
  • 1 orange, zest and juice
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 1/4 cup of toasted almonds

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the red wine, brandy, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, orange zest, and orange juice.

  2. Simmer the mixture over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  3. Strain the Glögg into heatproof glasses or mugs, discarding the spices.

  4. Serve warm, garnished with raisins and toasted almonds.
