How To Make Ginger & Pear Bread & Butter Pudding

Ingredients
- 6 slices of day-old bread, crusts removed
- 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Spread the softened butter on one side of each bread slice. Cut each slice into triangles.

Arrange half of the bread triangles, buttered side up, in a greased baking dish.

Layer half of the sliced pears on top of the bread.

Sprinkle half of the grated ginger and brown sugar over the pears.

Repeat the layers with the remaining bread, pears, ginger, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Pour the milk mixture over the bread and pears, making sure all the bread is soaked.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
