How To Make Shortbread Christmas Cookies

  • 2cupsbutter
  • 1cuppowdered sugar
  • 3cupsflour
  • cupscornstarch
  • 1tspvanilla
  • food coloring,optional


  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

  2. Cream the butter and vanilla with a stand mixer until fluffy.

  3. Add the flour, powdered sugar and cornstarch a little at a time while mixing.

  4. Divide the dough into pieces based on the number of available food colors, then knead in a few drops of coloring to reach desired color.

  5. Roll into balls, then place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  6. Flatten with a fork, a meat tenderizer or the bottom of a designed glass. Top with sprinkles, if desired.

  7. Bake for 20 minutes.

  8. Cool completely, serve, and enjoy!
