How To Make Marranitos (Mexican Pig-Shaped Cookies)

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the molasses and egg, and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.

Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

Use pig-shaped cookie cutters to cut out the cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
