Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add the softened butter, milk, vanilla extract, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and melted butter to make the streusel topping.

  5. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the streusel topping over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and topping.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Serve and enjoy!
