How To Make Caterpillar Cake

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- Green food coloring
- Assorted candies for decorating (gummy worms, M&M’s, licorice, etc.)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Stir in a few drops of green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Once cooled, remove the cake from the pan and decorate with assorted candies to resemble a caterpillar. Get creative with eyes, legs, and antennas using the candies.
