How To Make Mochi Recipe

Soft, chewy, and slightly sweet Japanese dessert made from glutinous rice flour.

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt.

  2. Gradually add water and mix until the mixture turns into a smooth paste.

  3. Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for 2 minutes.

  4. Take it out and stir well until the mixture becomes smooth and shiny.

  5. Microwave the mixture for another 2 minutes and remove.

  6. Dust a surface with potato starch and transfer the mochi onto it.

  7. Let it cool a bit before cutting the mochi into small pieces.
