How To Make Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream

A creamy and refreshing ice cream with a distinct matcha flavor.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the cream, milk, sugar, and matcha powder over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

  4. Pour the mixture into a container with a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  5. Freeze the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  6. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container with a lid and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
