Classic spaghetti and meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, just like the famous Italian restaurant.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Form into 16 meatballs.

  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, around 8-10 minutes.

  4. Add garlic to the same skillet and cook until fragrant for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, and basil. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.

  6. Serve meatballs and sauce over cooked spaghetti.
