  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup cold beer (lager or pilsner)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.

  2. Slowly pour in the cold beer, whisking constantly until a smooth batter forms.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F.

  4. Dip each onion ring into the batter, shaking off any excess.

  5. Fry onion rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.

  6. Drain on paper towels and season with salt to taste.
