How To Make Liam’s Reuben Sandwich

A classic deli sandwich with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing on rye bread.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of rye bread
  • 1 lb corned beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup thousand island dressing
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

  3. On the non-buttered side of 4 bread slices, layer corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing.

  4. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.

  5. Place the sandwiches on the griddle or skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
