  1. Spread Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Layer corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on four slices of bread.

  3. Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, dressing side down.

  4. Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich.

  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill sandwiches until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  6. Serve hot.
