How To Make Jersey Mike’s Meatball Sub Recipe

A classic sub filled with tender meatballs, marinara sauce, and melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

  3. Form meat mixture into small balls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

  4. In a large skillet, heat marinara sauce over medium heat. Add meatballs to the skillet and cover. Cook meatballs for 10-15 minutes, until cooked through.

  5. Cut sub rolls in half and place a slice of provolone cheese on each half.

  6. Toast sub rolls in the oven for 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.

  7. Remove meatballs from skillet and place 4-5 meatballs on each sub roll. Spoon sauce over the meatballs. Top each sub with additional provolone cheese.

  8. Bake the subs for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
