How To Make Jersey Mike’s Big Kahuna Cheese Steak Recipe

A delicious cheese steak sandwich with grilled steak, sautéed onions, peppers, and melted cheese on a freshly baked roll.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add the sliced onion and peppers. Cook until they are tender and lightly caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add 2 tbsp of olive oil and the thinly sliced beef. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.

  4. Preheat the broiler on high.

  5. Slice the rolls in half and place them under the broiler until lightly toasted.

  6. On the bottom half of each roll, add a few slices of beef, followed by a generous helping of the sautéed onions and peppers. Top with 2 slices of provolone cheese.

  7. Place the sandwiches back under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.

  8. Put the top half of the roll on the sandwich and serve hot.
