How To Make Jamie Oliver’s Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Deliciously rich chocolate brownies with a perfect crispy top and gooey center.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 80g plain flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • a pinch of sea salt
  • optional: ice cream or whipped cream, to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4. Line a baking tin with baking paper.

  2. Melt the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water.

  3. In a separate bowl, sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then stir in the sugar and salt.

  4. Once the chocolate and butter mixture has melted, remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Whisk in the eggs one at a time.

  5. Fold in the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes.

  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin and slicing into squares.

  8. Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
