How To Make Dan’s Apple Pie Recipe

This classic apple pie is a perfect dessert for a cozy night in.

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 1 hour
Total: 1 hour 20 minutes



  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 cups sliced and peeled apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Roll out pie crust and place in 9-inch pie dish.

  3. In a large bowl, toss together apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, and cornstarch until fully coated.

  4. Pour apple mixture into pie crust, and top with butter.

  5. Cover edges of pie crust with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.

  6. Remove foil from crust, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

  7. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
