How To Make Dan’s Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. Add onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Bring chili to a simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve hot with shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream, if desired.
