How To Make Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal with Caramel Sauce

Easily whip up this pumpkin pie oatmeal treat for breakfast when you’re missing the festivities of Thanksgiving or just love the spiced-up taste of pumpkin.

  • ½cuprolled oats
  • cupmilk
  • ¼cupbuttermilk
  • ¼cuppumpkin pureecanned
  • 1tbsplight-brown sugar
  • ¼tspcinnamon
  • 1pinchnutmeg
  • 1pinchginger
  • 1dashsalt
  • 1tbspcaramel sauceor caramel ice cream topping
  • 1tbspwalnutschopped, or pecans (optional)


  1. In a large microwave safe bowl, whisk together oats, milk, buttermilk, pumpkin puree, light-brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and salt.

  2. Microwave mixture on high power for 3½ minutes, then allow oatmeal to rest a few minutes.

  3. Drizzle oatmeal with caramel sauce and sprinkle with optional chopped nuts. Serve warm.

If you prefer a thinner consistency for your oatmeal, simply add more milk or use half and half.
