  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Slice the Italian bread horizontally, but not all the way through. Leave the bottom crust intact.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, and salt.

  4. Brush the inside of the bread with the garlic butter mixture, making sure to get the edges and corners.

  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the inside of the bread.

  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the mozzarella.

  7. Cover the cheese with the remaining mozzarella, making sure to press it down gently.

  8. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
