- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and rosemary.
-
Add the cold butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut it into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Stir in the grated cheddar cheese.
-
Gradually pour in the milk, stirring until the dough starts to come together. Be careful not to overmix.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
-
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch (2.5 cm) and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool for a few minutes before serving.
