Ingredients

  • 10 red chili peppers
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp of shrimp paste
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 2 tsp of lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp of salt

Instructions

  1. Blend the chili peppers, garlic, and shallots in a food processor until smooth.

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

  3. Add the blended spice mixture to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

  4. Add the shrimp paste, sugar, lime juice, and salt to the pan. Stir well to combine.

  5. Cook the sauce for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

  6. Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
