How To Make Malaysian Nasi Lemak Recipe

A traditional Malaysian dish with coconut rice, anchovies, peanuts, cucumber, and spicy sambal sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of jasmine rice
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • 1 cup of anchovies
  • 1 cup of roasted peanuts
  • 2 cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 4 boiled eggs
  • 1 cup of sambal sauce

Instructions

  1. Rinse rice and place it in a rice cooker.

  2. Add coconut milk, salt, water, and pandan leaves to the rice cooker and stir.

  3. Cook the rice on the white rice setting in the rice cooker.

  4. In a pan, fry anchovies until crispy.

  5. In another pan, roast peanuts until fragrant.

  6. Serve the coconut rice with anchovies, peanuts, cucumber slices, boiled eggs, and sambal sauce.
