How To Make Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burger

A tasty vegetarian burger with juicy grilled portobello mushrooms.

  • 4 portobello mushroom caps
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion


  1. Preheat grill to medium heat.

  2. Remove stems from mushroom caps and brush with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Grill mushrooms for about 5-6 minutes per side or until fully cooked.

  4. While mushrooms are grilling, spread mayo on the bottom of the hamburger buns and top with lettuce, tomato, and onion slices.

  5. When mushrooms are cooked, place on top of the vegetables and add the top part of the bun.
