How To Make Pork Vindaloo

Pork is one of the most commonly cooked meats in the world and we’ve decided to put our spin into these minimal yet tasty pork recipes that will have you looking forward to every bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g pork, cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 3-4 green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the pork cubes with ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and vinegar. Mix well to coat the pork evenly. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.

  2. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Cook until they start to splutter.

  3. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  4. Add the marinated pork along with the marinade. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Add water as needed and cover the pot. Simmer on low heat for 1-1.5 hours or until the pork is tender and cooked through.

  6. Stir in the green chilies and season with salt to taste. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
