How To Make Bourbon & Honey-Glazed Brisket with Soured Cream & Chive Mash
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 lbs brisket
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup chopped chives
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
-
In a small bowl, mix together the bourbon, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, and black pepper.
-
Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the bourbon and honey glaze over it, making sure it’s well coated.
-
Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, until the brisket is tender.
-
While the brisket is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
-
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sour cream, butter, chopped chives, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
-
Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice against the grain.
-
Serve the sliced bourbon and honey-glazed brisket with the soured cream & chive mash.
