How To Make Bourbon & Honey-Glazed Brisket with Soured Cream & Chive Mash

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 4 hours
Total: 4 hours and 20 minutes

  • 2 lbs brisket
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the bourbon, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, and black pepper.

  3. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the bourbon and honey glaze over it, making sure it’s well coated.

  4. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, until the brisket is tender.

  5. While the brisket is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

  6. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sour cream, butter, chopped chives, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  7. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice against the grain.

  8. Serve the sliced bourbon and honey-glazed brisket with the soured cream & chive mash.
