How To Make Russian Chicken & Mushroom Pies with Soured Cream & Dill

Ingredients
- 500g chicken breast, cubed
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp dried dill
- 250g puff pastry
- 100g soured cream
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.

Add the chicken and cook until browned.

Add the mushrooms, salt, pepper, and dried dill. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.

Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.

Spoon the chicken and mushroom mixture onto one half of each pastry square.

Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle shape. Seal the edges by pressing down with a fork.

Place the pies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops of the pies with beaten egg wash.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Serve the pies hot, topped with a dollop of soured cream and a sprinkle of fresh dill.
