Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Soy sauce, for serving
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, boiling water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 10 minutes.
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Take one part and roll it out into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface.
-
Brush the surface of the rolled-out dough with vegetable oil, then sprinkle a handful of sliced green onions evenly over the dough.
-
Roll the dough tightly into a log, then coil the log into a spiral shape. Flatten the spiral with your hand.
-
Repeat steps 3-5 with the remaining dough and green onions.
-
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil.
-
Cook the green onion cakes in batches, for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove the cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
-
Serve hot with soy sauce for dipping.
