This Bay-Steamed Broccoli is an easy side dish to whip, loaded with tender broccoli that’s steamed with bay leaves and tossed in a rich butter mix.

Ingredients
- 1½lbsbroccoli,(2 heads)
- 1½cupwater
- 4fresh bay leaves
- 4tbspunsalted butter
- ¾tspsalt
Instructions

Peel the broccoli stems.

In a pot wide enough to hold the whole broccoli heads, bring the water, bay leaves, butter, and salt to a boil. Add the broccoli and cover.

Cook over moderate heat, turning once, for 15 minutes until tender.

Transfer the broccoli to a warmed platter and cover with foil.

Boil the cooking liquid for 5 minutes until it has reduced to ¼ cup.

Pour the liquid over the broccoli, discard the bay leaves, and serve. Enjoy!
