How To Make Shredded Chicken (Cafe Rio Copycat)

Shredded chicken slow cooked until juicy and flavorful is a great companion to a variety of dishes such as salads, tacos, burritos, and sandwiches.

Preparation: 5 minutes
Cooking: 3 hours
Total: 3 hours 5 minutes



  • 2lbschicken breasts,boneless skinless
  • 1cupzesty Italian dressing
  • 2tspgarlic,minced
  • ½tbspchili powder
  • ½tbspground cumin
  • 3tbspdry ranch dressing mix
  • ½cupwater


  1. Spray inside of crockpot with cooking spray. Add chicken to slow cooker.

  2. In a small bowl combine Italian dressing, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, ranch dressing and water. Pour over chicken and cook on High for 3 to 4 hours, or Low for 5 to 6.

  3. Remove chicken from crockpot and shred. Add chicken back to juices and serve with salad/burritos/tacos. Enjoy!
