How To Make Oyster Fritters

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp of hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of fresh oysters, drained and chopped
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and green onions.

  3. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a smooth batter is formed.

  4. Gently fold in the chopped oysters.

  5. In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  6. Drop tablespoons of batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy on both sides.

  7. Drain the fritters on paper towels and serve immediately.
