Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (peeled and cored)
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375°F (190°C).

  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and let drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  7. Dust the fritters with powdered sugar while still warm.

  8. Serve the apple fritters hot and enjoy!
