  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 pears, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.

  4. Fold in the diced apples and pears.

  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. Drop spoonfuls of the fritter batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  8. Dust the fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
