How To Make Ground Chuck Burger

This ground chuck burger combines 2 of your favorite sandwiches! Juicy beef patties and buttery onion are placed between gooey grilled cheese sandwiches.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • lbsground chuck
  • ¼cupbutter
  • 8white bread slices
  • 8American cheese slices
  • 2tbspbutter
  • 1large onion,sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate. Divide the beef in half, and form each half into a patty.

  2. Grill the beef patties for 8 to 10 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.

  3. While the burgers are grilling, melt butter in a large skillet. Lay out 4 slices of bread, and top each slice with 2 slices of American cheese. Top each sandwich with a slice of bread to make 4 cheese sandwiches.

  4. Pan-fry the sandwiches in the butter for about 3 minutes per side until golden brown. Set the sandwiches aside.

  5. Melt the remaining butter in the skillet, and cook the sliced onions for about 8 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.

  6. Top each grilled burger with half the onions, and place each between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches.

  7. Serve and enjoy.
